Mold on the Rafters
When atmospheric conditions are right, mold is provided with an ideal growing environment. Mold is able to thrive on a variety of building materials including wood, concrete, carpeting, drywall and insulation. When inspecting the home pictured in the photos, SERVPRO of Middletown's mold remediation team discovered mold growth on the wood portion of the ceiling between the rafters. Using wire brushes and special cleaning agents, the team was able to successfully remove the mold from the affected areas. The cleaned area was then sealed with a protective layer of special mold inhibiting formula. Air filtering machines were also placed in the immediate area to make sure any lingering mold spores were removed from the air.
